Laparoscopic & General Surgery

Laparoscopic Surgery: Laparoscopic surgery is a type of surgery that uses smaller cuts than you might expect, typically through small keyhole incisions. It is also commonly called minimally invasive surgery. A device called a laparoscope (a slender tool that has a tiny video camera and light on the end) assist in examining the area to be operated on and allows surgery to be done easily.

 

The Laparoscopic Surgeon: A surgeon who is trained in the use of laparoscopic equipment is considered a laparoscopic surgeon. Today most surgeons are competent in this form of surgery.
